Hey there, fellow future Coventry student! ‍Moving to a new city is exciting, but let's be real – it can also be super overwhelming, especially when it comes to finding a place to live. Student life is fun, but it’s no child’s play! You'll be juggling household chores, attending classes, and probably working a part-time job too. Been there, done that (and maybe made a mistake or two – but hey, that's how you learn, right?).

That's why I'm here to share my Coventry wisdom and help you navigate the thrilling (and sometimes confusing) world of student accommodation. Buckle up, because I'm about to unleash some epic recommendations to turn your flat hunting from a stressful mess to a total win!

Coventry

Your university digs aren't just a place to crash. The right student accommodation can boost your grades, social life, and independence.  Imagine a quiet space to ace that exam, or a shared flat buzzing with new friends. Living close to campus cuts commutes, giving you more time to conquer your studies or grab coffee with classmates.  Budget-friendly options like shared apartments or homestays can free up cash for textbooks (or pizza!).  Most importantly, student life fosters responsibility. Managing bills, cooking meals, and sharing space with roommates all become valuable life skills. So, take your time finding the perfect student accommodation – it can be your key to a thriving university experience.

The Hub Campus Area:

Central Location: Situated in the heart of the city center, The Hub is a mere 2-minute walk from the iconic Coventry Cathedral. This prime spot allows you to explore the city's vibrant shops, cafes, and cultural attractions during breaks or after classes.

Social Hub: Serving as the epicenter of student life at Coventry University, The Hub area encompasses the Charles Ward Building, The Hub itself, the George Eliot Building, and the Coventry University Students' Union. Whether you're in the mood for a coffee at Costa Coffee, international cuisine in the food court, or a live music performance at Square One, The Hub has it all.

Home to Academic Departments: In addition to its social offerings, The Hub houses academic departments such as Ellen Terry (Creative Arts), Richard Crossman (Business, Economics, and Law), and Delia Derbyshire (Media and Communication).

The Library Campus Area:

Knowledge Hub: Located in Far Gosford, this area is dedicated to academic pursuits. Just a comfortable 5-6 minute walk from The Hub, it provides a focused environment for studying and research.

Extensive Facilities: This area includes the Beatrice Shilling Building, William Morris Building, Jaguar Building (home to postgraduate studies), Engineering Building, Elliot Yard, Armstrong Siddeley Building, and the Student Centre. The Lanchester Library, with its award-winning design, is a prominent landmark offering a vast collection of resources and a serene study environment.

My Time In Coventry

I moved to Coventry in 2021 and have been living in the same place for three years now. Patience, my friend! I'll reveal the name of this perfect place soon (spoiler alert: it's amazing!). When I was booking my accommodation, I was advised to avoid the Far Gosford area. After just ten days of living here, I understood why—it’s not the safest place to live.

I had chosen to live and work part time in city centre during my time at Coventry University. Living close to campus had huge benefits. Not only was it a short walk to the university (saving me 21 hours of commuting per week!), but it made finding a part-time job nearby easy. Studying became a breeze – the Coventry University library was my go-to spot, but I also loved using the comfy couches in the accommodation's study room and movie room for coursework and exam prep. Plus, my room had a beautiful view that made editing coursework a pleasure.

The Big Reveal!

The place that felt most like home during the last three years has been Millennium View. Each year brought new staff members, all of whom were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and supportive. A big part of my great experience was their commitment to making residents feel at home and comfortable. To guarantee a comfortable stay, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate everything from maintenance requests to social event planning.

The facilities, community spirit, and cleanliness of Millennium View were additional draws. The common areas were always well-kept and provided an ideal setting for socialising and relaxing. Life was easy and stress-free because of the ideal location, which was close to transportation and other necessities.

If you have any questions about Millennium View or other accommodations, please leave them in the comments section. I highly recommend Millennium View to anyone looking for a welcoming, supportive, and well-managed living environment. For three amazing years, it has been a delightful place to call home.

Welcome to Coventry!!!
